PW-Sat is a project of CubeSat satellite - a cube of dimensions 10x10x10 cm and weight less than 1kg. It is realized in Institute of Radioelectronics and Institute of Heat Engineering on WUT. In this project participate students and doctors from Students Space Association and Student Space Engineering Scientific Group.

The goal of this project is to build all subsystems of satellite which would enable students to take part in a real space project. Satellite's objectives are:

  • To test a new method of deorbitation using an unfolding structure, which would like a parachute, accelerate the process of deorbitation thanks to remnants of the atmosphere and solar wind
  • To test a system of spreaded radio stations, which should increase the quality and amount of data received from satellite on low orbite.
  • To test in space environment the onboard computer, which would also be used on ESMO satellite build by ESA. Students from WUT also participate in this project.
